I read this article and it just hit me, why do I need Facebook so much?

So I went directly to my Facebook page, clicked on account settings, hit the terminate account, and couldn't go through with it.
I hate to say it, but Facebook is my connection. My connection to some of my friends who I haven't talked to since before college. It's my connection to friends I made in college who have graduated or moved on. I go on Facebook to see whats going on in peoples lives, but only people that I care about. I don't have 500 friends for a reason, I don't recieve Facebook updates, and I will start to cut down the amount of time I'm on Facebook to one day a week instead of evertime I'm on a computer. This way, Facebook will be more meaningful to me, and not just a meaningless waste of my time.
